Splice Contest Entry- Wolfram

Description

I was tossing around a bunch of possibilities for this contest when the idea for a sheep/wolf hybrid hit me and so I decided to roll with it. I hope you like what I came up with, although I had the darndest time coming up with a name for it. I'm not really sure I'm sold on the name I settled on but I didn't have any better ideas (It also happens to be another word for Tungsten as I found out while Google-ing)

So, here it is: The Wolfram (Gramenvescar mendax (it means "false grass-eater" in Latin))

Sharing both Ovine (sheep) & Lupine (wolf) body structure, the Wolfram is powerfully built, with a stong barrel-chested front that tapers into more slender wolf-like features towards the rear giving it a sturdier and more maneuverable physique than either of its parent species. It has long, powerful legs well suited for mountainous terrain as well as for travelling for long distances. Its feet are particularly well adapted for this, combining a wolf's more flexible paws with hard hoof-like scales, providing better grasping ability and durability. It's body sports wool along the back, head, and tail, while the neck and belly are covered in wispier hair. Males also have large curving horns. Its eyes are rectangular like a sheep's allowing it to see well day & night and giving the Wolfram excellent depth perception for crossing mountainous terrain. Their teeth are well suited for an omnivorous diet, with the sharper cutting teeth at the front sporting wolf-like canines and a sheep's grazing teeth and grinding teeth at the rear. The Wolfram also has no middle teeth, similar to a sheep. Grazing is more prominent during the summer months when vegetation is abundant, while during the winter the Wolfram hunts primarily when greenery is scarce. Travelling in large packs, from a distance they appear to be a group of herbivores, which can fool prey into approaching too closely making the Wolfram the ultimate "wolf in sheep's clothing".

dude a wolf ram seems like it would suck in a fight (if your the one fighting it that is lol). cool idea. I heard the movie was supposed to be stupid tho. I really don't know anything about it either so I can't really say anything. But I digress, cool picture and good luck on the contest if they haven't already decided
